Employement
The Lead Teacher (Group Supervisor) is the primary educational leader of an assigned classroom at ASFA. Under the supervision of the Center Director and Education Coordinator, the Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality, developmentally appropriate educational program aligned to PA Early Learning Standards and the center's OCDEL-approved curriculum (Creative Curriculum). The Lead Teacher is the final responsible party for all educational outcomes, family communication, and child assessment within their classroom. The Lead Teacher also carries direct responsibility for the coaching, development, and day-to-day mentoring of their assistant teacher(s) as part of the L.I.T. (Leadership in Teaching) program. The Lead Teacher is expected to be a collaborative, growth-oriented professional who contributes to the broader success of the ASFA program.
The Assistant Teacher (Assistant Group Supervisor) supports the Lead Teacher in creating an inviting, stimulating, and safe learning environment for all children. The Assistant Teacher is a professional contributor to the classroom team — not simply a helper — and is expected to carry out their responsibilities accurately, consistently, and with genuine care for children and families. As part of ASFA’s L.I.T. (Leadership in Teaching) program, Assistant Teachers are placed at a tier level (Level 1 or Level 2) based on their education and experience, with a clear pathway toward Lead Teacher readiness. The Assistant Teacher is accountable to the Lead Teacher within the classroom and to the Director for all program-level compliance requirements.
The Center Director is responsible for the overall quality, safety, compliance, and culture of A Secure Future Academy. As both an operational leader and an educational leader, the Director is accountable for staff development, child outcomes, family partnerships, regulatory compliance (DHS, Keystone STARS 4, PHLPreK/Head Start, and SDP), and the day-to-day execution of the program's mission. The Director also assumes shared responsibility for Special Needs coordination alongside the Assistant Director, ensuring children with identified or suspected special needs receive appropriate support, documentation, and external coordination. The Director reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for keeping the Executive Director informed in a timely manner.

The Assistant Director also holds shared responsibility with the Director for Special Needs coordination — ensuring children with IEPs, IFSPs, or behavioral needs are appropriately supported, documented, and connected to external services.
